Marc Mitchell
Dr. Marc Mitchell is a pediatrician and management specialist with over 25 years of experience in the design and delivery of health care in developing countries. He is currently on the faculty of Harvard University School of Public Health where his areas of interest include reproductive health, health systems design, program development and evaluation, health sector reform, and the application of managed care in developing countries. Prior to his work at Harvard, Dr. Mitchell worked for 12 years at Management Sciences for Health in a variety of positions including technical director of a $30 million project in reproductive health. He has worked in over 25 countries including long term positions in Tanzania as pediatrician in a rural hospital, Assistant Secretary for Health in Papua New Guinea, advisor to the National Family Planning Board (BKKBN) in Indonesia, and MSH representative in Mexico. Dr. Mitchell holds degrees from Harvard University (B.A., 1970); Boston University (M.D., 1974), and M.I.T.’s Sloan School (M.S.,1985).
